The
true meaning of XTC is embedded in the greek word ek-stasis:
The withdrawal of the soul from the body. The contemporary meaning
of XTC is embedded in the chemical formula: 3,4-MethyleneDioxy-N-MethylAmphetamine
or MDMA.
We do not want to encourage anyone to experiment on themselves by taking XTC. However, due to the fact that many people will do this anyway, we feel it is important to provide some information. As a general guideline: When you decide to take XTC: only do so when you are feeling good.
Never take any substance because your friends tell you to. Never take any substance that 'friends' may offer for granted. Try to find out what it is and what the effects will be.
When XTC is coming on it feels fantastically exhilarating. Users report feeling blissed out, energetic, emotionally opened-up and loving. The ride up usually lasts about 30 minutes to an hour. One then reaches a plateau where one will stay for the next 3-4 hours, followed by a slow drift back to baseline. Taking multiple doses will change the timing of these periods.
Ecstasy is the most popular party-drug of this moment. MDMA was first synthesized and patented by Merck & co around 1912. A direct application for the stuff wasn't found until the rediscovery by Dr. Alexander Shulgin in the mid-sixties. It flew from the psychotherapists in the USA via hippies and Bhagwan movement to Western Europe, coinciding with the uprisal of 'house' music. Ever since, millions of people have tried it.......
Don'ts: Never combine of MAO-inhibitors with XTC. Don't drink alcohol because it dehydrates you. When dehydrated: drink isotonic beverages in small sips. Drinking too fast (even water) in a dehydrated state can cause oedema in the brain. Don't drive while under the influence of this drug.
XTC is frequently taken with LSD, a combination that is known as 'candy-flip', with feelings much deeper and visual than on XTC alone. Also 2-CB has been taken with MDMA. In low doses (5 mg.) it produces a more tactile effect, higher doses (up to 25 mg.) will produce a strong hallucinogenic effect. Take great care in combining substances !
MDMA was outlawed in the USA in 1985. Most countries have followed. As a result, the production of MDMA is controlled by underground drug-chemists and traffickers. In this world a lot of money is being made with the production of these substances. They are relatively easy to manufacture and the chance of getting caught is fairly small. Governments fuel these criminal activities by designing measures of control on some important chemicals and precursors, fighting their 'War on Drugs'. This is why many strange mixtures of other substances might be encountered in so called 'XTC'-pills. Most encountered substances in 'XTC' are : amphetamines, prescription medicine (like rohypnol-the date-rape drug-) and hallucinogens. The E-Z test gives you an opportunity to test powders, tablets and capsules. It will give you an indication about the presence of XTC-like (MDMA, MDEA,MDA), 2CB-like (2CB, DOB) and AMPHETAMINE-like substances.
